Subject: Joint proposal for nomination of oneM2M SC Chairman

Dear oneM2M Steering Committee Members,

According to the Action Item SC#1-11, it is with great pleasure that ARIB and TTA 
nominate Mr. Luis Jorge Romero from ETSI as Chair of the oneM2M Steering 
Committee and send this mail via the SC reflector supporting his selection as 
Chair.

[SC#1-11] Notification of the SC Chair and Vice-Chair nomination process being 
opened shall be sent via the SC reflector, noting that nominations are to be 
received within seven (7) days of the SC#2 meeting start date.

Critical elements for the success of oneM2M going forward are harmonious 
collaboration among partners and members, and creating environment for various 
vertical industries to participate voluntarily.  This can be achieved through the 
expert with experience and strong leadership skills.

Looking back at the history of 3GPP, ETSI’s leadership role in the 1st meeting of 
3GPP PCG/OP became the foundation that made 3GPP one of the successful 
partnership projects among standardization bodies and membership companies.

Considering the above mentioned aspects that are required in making partnership 
project a successful one, we believe that some leading expert among Partner Type 
1 is best suited for the leadership position of oneM2M Steering Committee.

Therefore, ARIB and TTA would like to nominate Luis Jorge Romero from ETSI as 
a candidate for Chair of the oneM2M Steering Committee. His deep knowledge 
and experience both with oneM2M and in the M2M marketplace gives us full 
confidence in his ability to help lead oneM2M, especially in its crucial formative 
years.
