It is with great pleasure that ATIS nominates Mr. David Foote as Vice Chair of the oneM2M Steering 
Committee and provides this letter supporting his selection as Vice Chair. 
 
David is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Hitachi’s division responsible for networking and 
telecom products in the Americas’ markets including M2M solutions for home and embedded 
gateways as well as 4G packet core infrastructure products. ATIS has benefited from David’s 
knowledge and leadership via his membership on the ATIS  Board of Directors,  its Technology and 
Operations Council, and our M2M Committee.  Mr. Foote is also an industry-recognized expert and 
promoter of the M2M industry as exemplified by his recent invited speaker role at major industry 
conferences like CES, CTIA and TIA Inside the Network.   
 
Mr. Foote has served with distinction as one of the Convenors during the founding of oneM2M and 
would continue to serve and support oneM2M  as Vice Chair with the same commitment, dedication, 
energy, leadership and professionalism he bought to the Convenor role.  
 
We recommend Mr. Foote’s nomination as the Steering Committee Vice Chair, fully endorse his 
candidacy, and request your support in his selection as Vice Chair. His deep knowledge and experience 
both with oneM2M and in the M2M  marketplace gives us full confidence in his ability to help lead 
oneM2M, especially in its crucial formative years.
